Hi Guys!

First I would like to thank all of you for your help!

If not for your effective information I would still be wondering what my poor mans convertible sportscar was like to drive. (235,000 KMs)

Unfortunately, I must go to the well of knowledge once more.

When I turn off the car the tach will stay at the last RPM and the charge guage goes to full discharge.I left the car with the battery hooked up and it did not go dead.
What kind of a short would make these symptoms without actually draining the battery?
I did change the HEP and the ASD relay. The car runs fine and starts right up but it is a little freaky if it is a symptom of a more serious issue.

Again thanks for any help!

Verify that battery charging voltage is ok at the battery and that there are no fault codes set.
If both are ok verify battery voltage is correct at the cluster voltmeter pins.
Remove the voltmeter and with the cluster connected and key on be sure you have battery voltage across the ignition and ground pins.
If all is ok I would think the issue is with the cluster circuit board.
Try reflowing the solder joints.

More than likely an issue with the solder joints, more than a few clusters have had that issue. Or you have dead gauges.
