It's not plug-n-play. The '90 car is SBEC, and the '89 is SMEC. Different animals. You may be able to do it, but I think you'll have to at least re-wire the dash bulkhead connector.

No, he shouldn't have to re-do anything in the car. I should have said "firewall" connector (in the engine compartment) instead of dash connector.

I used to work for Ford, you wouldn't beleive the crap you get for even using the term "firewall" in the office (if you're in IS it's OK, but then it's referencing something completely different). It's called the "dash panel" now. They don't want you to even mention the word "fire" with respect to the car.

Anyway, I think you can use the SMEC and harness, but the connector at the "firewall" is different. So, you'll probably have to cut and paste wires to make it work. It won't be plug and play.

It's a turbo Daytona, right? And you got all of the relays and solenoids for the turbo, right? I think it should be plug-n-play with the harness, then.

If the 90 Shelby donor was a VNT it won't work . If it's from a 90 T1 car (C/S AGB , ES or Shelby with A/T) it'll work .

It should still work. You'd just have a couple of unused plugs where the VNT solenoids and charge temp sensor were. The pin for VNT solenoid #1 is that same as the WG solenoid on the T1.

Of course, he'll need the T1 computer, not the VNT...
