The cruise control in 86 daytona TI has not worked since I converted it from automatic to a 5 speed (A-523). The vacuum line and the wiring seem to be hooked up properly. I have the factory service manuals for 1989 cars, but the cruise control is controlled by the smec in the 89s and I don't think the 86 logic module controls the cruise control, so I can't use the wiring diagrams from 89 service manuals. Does anybody know how the cruise control works on the LM cars?

Was the car originally equipped with cruise control?

I don't have an '86 Daytona schematic either, but I have one for the L-bodies. There is a clutch switch in the cruise control system for cars with a manual trans. It looks like it operates the same way as the brake switch, i.e., you push on the clutch pedal and the cc disengages. I can't see where there is any connection to the Power Module or Logic Module on this schematic. Sorry that's probably not much help.

yes, the car was originally equipped with cruise. I seem to remember cutting the harness for the reverse/ park-safety switch wiring and splicing in the reverse light plug for a manual trans. I grounded the park/ neutral wire so the starter relay would work. On your wiring diagrams is this wire in the cruise control circuit? The only book I have for 1986 is a Haynes service manual and it would make better cat box filler than it would as a reference for working on mopars.

The park/neutral wire on the trans shouldn't make any difference. Let's back up a little. Does your cc servo have a 3-wire or a 4-wire connector?

On my '86 schematic it's a 3-wire. Brown/red wire goes to the cc switch. White/red wire goes to the stop light switch. Dark blue/red wire goes to the stop light switch. Then there is a separate black wire (not on the servo connector) that grounds the servo.

On my '89 schematic the servo has a 4-wire connector. Light green/red wire goes to the ECM. Tan/red wire goes to the ECM. Dark blue/red goes to the stop light switch. Black is ground.

I'll have to take a look at it this weekend when it warms up a little, I can't remember how many wires are in the connector. The temps here are below zero with a constant 20mph wind right now, so I try not to spend too much time outside.
