It could help to see if your O2 sensor is working well and might help to tune a bit depending on what you're doing. I don't think it's really needed on an N/A car unless you're getting pretty involved with the motor. Might make you look cool to some little teenyboppers though haha.

detobias is keeping our cars running
1. same reason(s) as a turbo EFI car: verify operation, tuning
2. yes, will work just fine.
sensor doesnt know whether its on a turbo-, super-, N/A efi or carb, or diesel or NGAS or propane for that matter
3. most N/A calibrations also have 'overfuelling' in the heavy throttle / heavy load region, so you should see a drop in A/F past a certain throttle position &/or RPM

i would say a narrowband a/f gauge is a very worthy item on an older car for diagnostic reasons alone.

for instance:

-you have a fuel leak somewhere and the car runs rich, eventually destroying your o2 sensor, catalytic converter, spark plugs, and maybe even other things depending on how rich and how long (this happened to my jeep..a narrowband gauge would have alerted me to it LONG ago and saved me a couple hundred bucks in parts and smog tests)

-fuel injectors/fuel pump/fuel lines clogged/inoperative so system runs lean at WOT..this will tell you that

-if you car is known good right now, you will get used to the the readings and when something goes wrong in the future you will know right away

plus they are cheap

6g72 acclaim is keeping the peace
I have a narrow on my acclaim, it recently helped me in determining what was causing it to run poorly. I agree well worth the money.
