deke rivers is keeping the peace
hey all..brand new here as of today..hope someone can help me...i have a 04 dodge diesel p/u 5.9 turbo..last week it just lost power and kept stalling out..next day it was ok for awhile..then same thing..dodge dealer said injectors were bad..cost over 4k..towed it home..now its in shop in town and theyre having hard time figuring it out..had bullydog hooked up but disconnected it..ran ok for afew miles then same thing..right now i have it back to stock..anyone out there have any ideas...only has 130000 miles...great truck..no problems until now..throws a code ..fuel error??? any ideas...thanks...

Unfortunately I am not a diesel guy so I cannot be of much help but it would help the people that can if you could post the fault code #.
The fault code will begin with a P and be followed by 4 numerical digits.

thanks for reply..truck is throwing a p0148 code...fuel error..mechanic working on it now showed me my airaid air filter pretty much plugged up ..50% he said...have new one ordered..they were suppose to drop tank and check transfer pump..its a trial and error search...any other suggestions will be appreciated...thanks.

I am a diesel mechanic. first thing I would think is the problem is the injection pump. extremely common on those dodge 5.9 also need to replace the transfer pump to.

spearscrue..thanks for the advice on my truck..we were kinda leaning towards the transfer pump..ill find out tomorrow whether they dropped the tank and checked it out...will let them know about injection pump also...really appreciate the advice..thanks...

Bad news is when the transfer pump goes out 95% of the time it takes the injection pump out to. I see that you are in MI. F.Y.I. if you end up having to but a new injection pump i have bought alot of quality rebuilt pumps at a reasonable price from northwest fuel injection located in either Blissfield or Detroit MI.
