FYI just incase...
The ASD relay powers the fuel pump, + coil, injectors and HO2S heater circuit.
If a seperete fuel pump relay is used it powers the fuel pump relay.
On some vehicles it also powers the field circuit of the alternator.
The ASD relay has 2 power sources, a ground(computer controlled and an output to the powered devices.
With initial key on the ASD is actuated for 1 second to pressurize the fuel rail.
After that the ASD will not be actuated until the controller see's a crank signal, on the 3.0L that would be from the optical distributor.
1)Probe the output terminal(DG/OR) of the ASD with a 12 volt test lamp connected to - battery.
2)Turn the key on, the test lamp should illuminate for 1 second and go off.
3)If it does the ASD circuit is working fine, verify 1 second of power at the + coil and fuel pump.
4)If it does not illuminate check and verify both power sources are present at the ASD relay.
