Red face Direct swap? Use a 90 VNT dist on 85 TI

Can I swap the VNT(90 Tona) distributor to my 85 TI LeBaron? Want to make sure before I pull everything apart and hook it up....Thanks

Nope... 84-85T1 interchange, 86up T1/T2/T4 interchange.

Sooo....What's different other then the size of the cap? I Installed the VNT distributor on the 85 TI because it has all new parts and I was thinking the pickup on the 85 dist was bad. The car didn't run at all before doing this and now it runs, just not well... I assume the difference is in the timing pulses that the computer sees....

I'll get a new pickup for the 85 distributor tomorrow and swap everything back....

Use an 86 T1 LM, and what you have will work perfectly. The pinout of the LM is identical ... note that you'll have less timing (86 had swirl head).
