I have five gallons of Sunoco 112 leaded race gas left from racing my four wheeler this last weekend, my questions are 1. will the leaded fuel hurt anything in my motor? I know the lead will destroy the cat, but mine is cut off. My second question is, will it make any diffrence? I know the puropse of running a higher octane, but will the computer advance the timming more due the the fact it has a harder time knocking? The car is more or less stock, I have some 10 mm Magnacore wires and a K&N and my cat is removed and I have a Magnaflow muffler. I had planned on mixing some 91 octane in, I just need to know if it's worth it. Any input would be great, the last track night is tonight and I wanna do the best I can! Thanks in advanvce

The leaded gas will kill the O2 sensor after a while, not immediatally but it will eventually kill it. The fuel really wont help unless you were having some detonation before, in which case the computer was seeing that and pulling your timing back. If that was/is the case then you will see an improvement simply because you should get rid of the detonation and stop the computer from pulling the timing back. You could also run the higher octane gas and try advancing your base timing to about 14 degrees and you might be able to pick up some power without detonating, but remember to return it to 12 degrees with pump gas unless you have a way to monitor it and know you're not getting detonation. Have fun at the track!

Rule of thumb, run only as much octane as needed.
Any less you detonate, any more you lose power.

Thanks for the info guys. As far as I know, the car has no knock. I do wish I had a scanner so I could tell if the computer is pulling timing, hopfully somday... Thanks again
