If I had a bad injector harness, would that trip a CEL? or would it only trip the CEL if a wire was completely broken? (I'm thinking I might have a corrosion issue which would effectively alter the resistance)

Thanks
Steve

If it can't fire the injectors properly (open or shorted circuit), you'll get a code 26 or 27.

If the CEL came on, there's a code stored for it.

I have had both bad injector harness plugs and bad injectors (at different times) w/o a CEL.

Aight, well I guess I better just build a new harness and get my injectors checked (Whichever happened melted a piston)

Thanks!

Right. Code 26 and 27 don't turn on the CEL light.

Just pull a resistance check on your current harness. I hust verified 2 harnesses I had were good doing this.

I'll probably do a continuity check on all the wires, and then check the resistances with the injectors plugged in. What should the resistance of the injectors be? 2-3ohms?

all I have tested that were good were in the 2.3-2.6 ohm range.
