I am trying to figure out if there would be enough interest in flashable SMECs for me to build and sell a few. that said, would $100 be a fair price, and if so, how many would be interested?

Would that include us sending a SMEC as a core or you providing it? Include everything, hardware wise, that would be needed to hook the laptop up? (excluding a serial cable)

that would be without any kind of core exchange. i may be willing to reduce the price a bit for those that wanted to send in a core, but i have a pretty good supply of them so it wont be a whole lot. and yeah, its a complete smec, ready to run. one wire needs to be added to the harness to be able to put the smec into program mode, but thats it. and yeah, you supply the serial adapter. I will look into making those available as well though.

How much more would you want for the serial adapter?

If you put one together that is ready to plug into a laptop, and with good instructions, i would be willing to pay more than that.

You should give us a light break-down of what one of these smec's will be able to do.

These smecs allow you to flash a calibration directly from a laptop. No removing the smec from the car to access the chip. Just plug a cable (hopefully provided) into the diagnostic port and into your laptop, run D-cal and uplaod just about any smec program you want from a 2.2T1 to a 3bar +40 2.5 cal. I run 1 of Xratti's smecs and it has been great. I have a cold air box completely around the smec with a big cone filter so removing it is a 1/2 hr job. It's nice to be able to come home at night, adjust your cal a bit and uplaod it before starting the car to go to work in the morning. I just wish you could do this to the LM's and SBEC's as well. For $100 I think the cable should be included.

Sounds like a good deal to me, Has anyone looked into making the SBEC flashable? One of those would be nice for my 91.

@xrattiracer: Hi, I have sent you an email just 2 days ago via this board. If you just could confirm, that you have got it? I am very interested in the subject! This one I post only to get sure that you got my mail. Don't feel pressured

Sorry, email client thought it was spam.
For everyone else; I am still working on this, I just took a bit of a turn and designed a module to make the flash upgrade a little easier. Prototypes are in testing right now, and will have production units soon.
