HI
i just installed my Accufab AFPR on my fuel rail, and it is not sealing properly where the O-ring goes, and fuel is leaking out when the car is running

is there something special i need to do here, or what?
i used the same O-ring that was on my stock FPR, but there was a little creme colored plastic that went on before the O-ring that didn't fit on the Accufab, and i broke it trying to put it on. What do i do here, do i use 2 O-rings or get a special sealer stuff or what?

what do you guys do? Anyone else ever had this problem?

thanks, Justin

I had the same problem and used two very small washers between the AFPR and the rail and it sealed just fine. I think the Accufab seats too low and prevents a good seal. Just what worked for me!

When I installed my TU accufab regulator I found that the 2 supplied washers left the seal a little too high. I only used 1 washer instead and it seems to be just right. either way washers are needed, and some lube on the o-ring helps for the install.

You are lucky... They usually score the rail.. then they never seal right.

A reason for no leaks is quite likely it's been put on (the o-ring slipped in un-fazed) but not taken off yet. The damage happens after tightening. The nut cuts small grooves. When the FPR is mounted the next time, these grooves make small slices in the sealing area of the O-ring. The rest is history... You need to sand the "slices" out to fix it.

Again... if you've had it on and off several times and its still sealing, CONSIDER yourself lucky. Experience is what is being doled out here. Takes 2 seconds to do it right rather than take a chance.

GREAT PIC Chris

yeah mine doesnt have the washers (didnt know when i put it on a while ago) and it still seals fine... however, i never took it off and I dont plan on it unless I get a larger fuel rail or if I make a high flow fuel rail.

Hmmm. Yup, I'm a dumbass. I simply used some loctite and left the nuts not totally tightened. Oh well. The GLHS isn't going to get driven anytime in the forseeable future. Washers are going on anyways though. they're what? 10 cents at the hardware store?

Same thing happened on my shelby z. I'm in the process of trying to fix it today. I've already used the spare o-ring I had. Went and got several o-rings (just in case) and will try the washer trick. the rail is somewhat scored though. I'll let you know how it goes...

Well, I ended up having to pull the whole damn rail out, as I couldn't get anything in there to fix the scoring while installed. What a chore! If it weren't for that damn pulse dampener... Anyway I used a small buffing wheel on the ol' dremmel and polished out the scoring then actually used some petroleum jelly when re-installing everything, and the 60psi bursts aren't blowing it out anymore. I think I got real lucky. BTW I stuck the washers down in the rail between it and the reg. so I could put a little torque on those nuts without the risk of shoving the hex back down in there. Whatever works though...
