Title says it all.....over the weekend, car started shaking and vibrating, running horrible, threw a code 27 (i know what the code means) but kind of at a loss as far as a fix goes.....when idling, i can press down on the #3, #4 injectors and the car gags, sounds like it wants to shut off....ive checked connections, they seem fine visibly but havent pulled the injector harnesses yet....i did notice the ground from the back of the intake to the firewall was in two pieces, so i replaced the ground, did nothing! seems to me like it could only be the injector harnesses, or maybe a HAL plate? havent pulled the distributor yet.....anybody?
btw, car is a 91 shadow, w/2.2 head, garrett, intercooled

CRACKED AND BROCKEN INJ HARNESS DUE TO AGE IS COMMON. Check it carefully. HEP will not throw a 27 in my experience. The bad ground could have fried an injector as well or the driver. If you have a spare sbec, try it out. Use a dvm to check the injectors for resistance. They should be 2.3-2.7 ohms and settle there... no flashing around.

Very likely the harness. Make sure the pins on the injector connectors are still snapped all the way in the connector. They can pull out when trying to swap injectors. These wires are subject to intense heat which makes the insulation turn very brittle. The insulation cracks and you either get shorts or the wire inside corrodes and fatigues and falls apart. Go over it carfully, but be gentle. Also inspect the big connector, clean and regrease any contacts, blah blah blah.

Hmmm so the dealers still have them. Good to know... Not a bad thing to replace if you are looking for a higher powered set-up. Hate to have it fail and cost a block.
