Basically have to ask yourself, is a little rough idling in the morning worth the kick in the ass I get when its warmed up and running top notch?
honestly this is horrible logic. if its even logic at all. you CAN have high performance and driveability with an aftermarket cal. other have had success why shouldnt I be able to?

Ok so what happens if you adjust the base fuel pressure up? Will it still idle lean when cold? Will it be too rich when warmed up? Is it the computer that is leaning it out because of the O2 reading? Reason I'm interested in this thread is because I too am looking at getting a stg 5 cal for my 87 car.

yeah, if i increase the fuel pressure it still idles lean when cold but will be way too rich for performance and gas mileage reasons, i have the base pressure at like 40psi right now and the thing runs reallly good when its warm and gets great mileage. its just something with a cold start where the widband will go full lean and the idle will surge i have a video of it doing it if youre interested
