It seems that the 89 CSX is a bit of an exception. It is an SBEC car with SMEC style sensors and wiring...according to the Allpar.com site. Here are a few pics of the two controllers. Two of the SMEC first (note it has two connectors) and then two of the SBEC, which has a single connector.
The 89 CSX used pull-ahead 90 VNT computers and wiring. The Shelby supplement instructs you to use the troubleshooting and repair criteria for the 90 Daytona.
