Coolant temp sensors

I have a 88 2.2L TBI reliant

is there more then one coolant temp sensor on this car.... I replaced the one at the T-stat housing.. if there is another where does it go

There is a 2 wire sensor by the thermostat housing, this is for the computer and also for fan control.
If your standing looking at the engine, on the left, just below # 2 cylinder is a one wire sensor, this is for you temp guage or idiot light.

ok well I replaced the one in the t-stat housing and my gauge works fine so I should be ok then right and this should not be my problem for my poor cold idle issues

They don't affect your coolant operation but the computer one will affect the way the engine runs if it screws up.

well the computer one was replaced so I doubt that has anything to do with "my" problem

Anyone know how to check the "gauge" sensor to see if it is faulty. My gauge no longer works and I get no resistance throught the one wire sensor when checking with an ohm meter.

I replaced the other a few month ago when it started kicking out a 22 code and that fixed that. Fan cycles fine when the temp comes up. Just no gauge reading.
