can anybody tell me what the differences are between the two? such as boost levels, rpm limit, ect. i know the 86 is calibrated for the log intake. i was also wondering what grade of fuel i have to use with the 87 T2 setup. im running a one piece intake, FMIC, stock T2 fuel system, a modified T1 garret with a complete 3" exhaust and ported exhaust manifold.

thanks very much

They're wildly different computers. I don't think there's much comparison between a log intake calibration and a T2 cal.. You could go to the D-Cal website and download the two calibrations and *try* to compare the spark curves and such.. I know someone running a T2 cal on a Mitsu turbo'd 2.2 with a G head, and no intercooler. Been running 14psi on it for over a year now.. Running 92 octane..
T2 engines should ALWAYS run the best gas you can get (91, 92, or 93 usually).

the map sensors and map sensor wiring is different also, boost level on the 86 t1 is around 10 psi where the 87 t2 is around 12psi varying on what has been done to the car. fuel curves are also different on the 86 t1, sense the log intake is so poor in flow chrysler had problems with fuel mixture in certian cylinders(sorry i don't remember ) so they changed the pulse width on the injectors on these cylinders.
for more info i would recomend go to www.thedodgegarage.com , gary has all the info there i believe.

cool thanks, it going to be wierd having to run 91-93 octane, but i guess thats the price you pay for having an awesome and fast car. 12 psi, i didnt realize it was that high, 12psi is good for me right now, i just want to get this car on the road. im going to have fun with my map wiring, thats the only thing i havent figured out yet because i want to use the map sensor from my 86 LM and run it under the hood.

From Russ Knize's site:

"Supposedly starting in mid-1986, some Turbo I logic modules were equipped with the electronics necessary to control the Turbo II 4-wire AIS motor. There is no way to identify from the outside if a particular logic module has this capability. The only way to tell is to open it and look for the electronics. I will add details on this as soon as I figure it out. Most if not all 1987 Turbo I logic modules have the necessary electronics to work as a Turbo II."

So just a cal away, no?

Later,
Craig

Yeah, just different electronics. I'd imagine if you set an early '86/'85 circuit board next to an '87 board, you could probably see what's missing. Order it up on Digikey or Mouser, solder it on and be set..
Or just don't run an AIS, I don't on my Daytona..
