my car has a hick-up every so offten and does not seem like i'm getting all the power out of the car. I have a code 15 (speed sensor) that I need to replace, would that cause the semptoms above? I just put a new HEP in to get it to pass instection and now this.

thanks Randall

Typically the only side effects of a bad speed sensor is a non-functioning electronic speedo if so equipped, and stalling when rolling to a stop.

I've had more than one bad speed sensor. Here is *everything* that goes wrong with a bad speed sensor:

--The electronic speedo (if it has one) reads zero regardless of speed. (Okay, it could jump around a bit if its intermittent.)
--The lockup torque converter (if it has an auto trans) doesn't lock up.
--The cruise control doesn't work.

I doubt this is your problem. The engine should run fine without the speed sensor.

check your vacume lines. plastic lines crack easy and are hard to see sometimes.

I'm having this exact problem. Speedo reads fine (analog), car seems to run okay, but as soon as I let off the throttle, bam..car dies. I just checked the codes and am pulling only code 15. How much does a speed sensor cost? (85 Charger with a A-555)

make sure its plugged in all the way as well. my speedo worked fine but plug wasnt in all the way or something and car would stall when clutch was pushed in to come to a stop. (88 csxt turbo 2 a555). pushed on it this morning to make sure it was plugged in ok and it quit the stalling. or your connector could be dirty as well.

I've got about 8 inches of snow on my car and have been sick for the past few days, but I'll check that to make sure. Thanks.
