I know this has been covered before. Can anyone tell me quick which pins to use to wire in a charge temp sensor on an 88 smec. I figured it would be easier to ask than to find it. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some cars already have the pigtail all wired in, look for an empty connector near your fuel rail.

Are you having the smec socketed? If not I'm not sure of the point of doing this mod, on a T1 smec

Its pin #21. You simply drill the hole out on top, get another ecm socket connector terminal from a junked car and install that. That wire goes to the red wire, I think thats the colour, the other wire, black with blue stripe goes to the sensor grounds, so you can splice that into any of the sensors, IE TPS, MAP etc.

thanks turbovanman--- I ended up looking at a wiring scematic and getting it.
Daytonajesse----- I wanted to do it because I have a stage 5 cal from cindy. I have a TII motor in my car. With the stage 5 cal the check engine light was on with a code for charge temp. So I wired it in.

The point of doing it is it makes for a more consistent engine, IE power levels and will make more power as the computer can compensate for colder air if it see's it. It also works the other way if it see's hot air also. I am glad mines hooked up, yay! Another Kudo's to Paul and his cal!

I understand the benifets of having the charge air temp sensor. And it does make sense with the stage 5 cal. I just didnt think the T-1 computer would have the programming to utilize the sensor, without further mods.
Thanks for the info though!

The t1 stock cal as you know doesn't have it but it can be enabled. I had mine turned on. I guess it depends on what cal you buy, FWD's are all preset and TU's are custom.
