There are two wires that needed to be spliced in to the harness. One is for the sensor ground circtuit, which is not to be confused with engine ground. This wire is usually black with blue tracer. If you peel back the harness conduit and friction tape, you can usually find the main sensor ground splice junction in the harness run that goes along the firewall. The other wire is the one that goes to the SMEC. Unfortunately the '88 T1 SMEC 60-pin connector won't have the pin installed, so you'll need to get creative about getting it spliced in. Be carefull if you decide to take the connector apart....they break very easily.
