I recently had to have a new under the hood power module replaced in my 87 CSX. I let an ex-dodge mechanic do it while I was out of town and I think he put in the wrong one. The one he put in is not a mopar part, it is an ASE aftermarket. My car runs fine, but has no power on hard acceleration. Is that because the computer is wrong? Does anyone have the correct SMEC or at least a part number? Unfortunately, the mechanic threw out my original.

Thanks to anyone who can help get my car running properly!

Was your car running well before you changed the computer? I mean.. the things rarely go bad.. and if it's still not working with a new one in, it's very possible it was something else to begin with.

No, the car wasn't running. It started, sputtered, but was undriveable. You would hit the gas and the car wouldn't go anywhere. The computer got replaced, the car seems to run fine...just no pop on hard acceleration. It is almost as if the turbo isn't working. However, the turbo gauge reads full boost as if it is working properly.

Timing was the first thing that I checked. Everything is OK there.
