Hello,

I purchased a Stage 1 cal for my 85 charger a while back. I just found the ecu gives a 53 fault code which says ECU failure.

The unit seems to function fine. I am wondering is this normal to throw this code on a re-caled ecu?

Thank you.

yes, 99% of the recalibrations throw that code. It's simply a checksum.

Agreed, it is the checksum. It's a simple fix for the calibrator actually, not sure why FWDP doesn't just recalculate a new checksum. D-Cal does that for you every time on save if you set it up properly.
