the voltage spikes are too fast to see with a voltmeter, and would be hard to scale anyway. the computer uses a table with knock volts vs rpm to determine what voltage constitutes a knock event at a given rpm, since it varies.

Before the computer 'sees' the knock signal, the output of the sensor is ran through a band-pass filter, (I believe 2kHz - 5 kHz), to filter out all the garbage. Monitoring knock is do-able, but one would need advanced electronic skills.

WWW.VIATRACK.COM. Boris makes a neat unit that can run an LED when knock is sensed. It'll work with the TD knock sensors...

I just found that site a fw days ago. And I email Boris about using his setup up with MegaSquirt. I guess is work fine with out any probs. Also there are 2 version that he makes. One with a LED and one that can retard the timing for us if knock is sensed.

It will only retard a Megasquirt setup though, correct?
