Installed AEM universal 1900

Lessons learned:
Easiest trigger setup is 24 on crank and 1 on cam.

Pros:
It's all built in, can do everything.
Telemetery
Internal logging and PC logging
Dashboards
dual built in widebands
4 EGTs built in
10 low impedence injector drivers built in
5 coil drivers buiilt in
Full automatic transmission control
lots of programmable auxialiary inputs and outputs
Lockup control
Shift light
wet/dry nitrous control
Launch Controls
Boost control
2 knock sensors
traction control
Anti Lag

Cons:
Expensive
Documentation, (although it's hundreds of pages) could really use improvement.
No alternator control (or at least I haven't found it yet)
You have to tune it for your car almost from scratch.

Performance Gains:
No previous system to compare with.

Dyno slips:
Still getting tuned,

My personal comments:
Handles my 1600cc (150lb) injectors ok.
I've never seen timing so accurate. not using sloppy distributor.

I know someone was interested in how to mount the edis wheel to the front pulley. I have it mounted along with the sensor off of the a/c bracket. I started it up this past weekend. fired right up but now the harder part,,, tuning.

I bought a piece of 4" structual pipe with an 1/4" wall I believe. I machined the a/c vbelt pulley off and welded the pipe to the pulley then machined the pipe od to fit the edis wheel. The runout is about .005".

you may be able to tell the engine is in a stand/cradle not in a car.

Your sensor bracket looks great!

A little update:

My EDIS has been installed on my car for close to 2 years now with no problems. I still really don't have any good pictures, I should take some today. I did manage to find one of my mounting bracket though.

I have a machined hub (not pictured) that is hubcentric on the crankshaft snout and has a hub on the outboard side as well that the crank trigger wheel centers on. Then I just used 4 longer bolts to hold the pully and trigger wheel on.

Next time I take it off I can get dimensions and put up engineering drawings if anyone is interested.

Modified Trigger Wheel
The entire Ford Escort balancer was mounted on the lathe and cut off right behind the wheel, the trigger wheel is press fit and can be heated up and rotated for mechanical timing, plus there is a flange on the Escort hub that keeps the trigger wheel square when moving. There is very little runout with this setup.
