Not really tire spin issue...jut trying to balancethe clutch and the throttle. Actually the track was hooking VERY well last night...better than usual. I'm just getting used to launching a manual car, that's all. I beleive I'm launching at about 3000-3500rpm. I already have the clutch almost engaged when the lights come down...on the third yellow I start letting it out...NOT dumping, just letting it catch while feeding gas to keep it from bogging. I've found this method to build boost quickly and yeild the least amount of tire spin. I've just got to get better at it!

As for recation times...they're fair. I'm averaging probably about .3. My best last night was a .056(that's more what I'm used to). These have nothing to do with the ET though...just winning the race.

It's my 60' I've got to get down.

I also changed my shift point last night from 5500 to 6000...that's what got me the 100mph. The car seems to like that on the track.

Sounds like 13's are not far away, Ill bet your running extremely rich.
I tried running negative camber but it was a bit scary on these crappy roads out here my car was just darting all over the place and felt like it was oversteering in the corners. Im gonna try some air shocks in the back of mine, What is that bar your talking about are you running a solid bar instead of a shock ?

Congrats on the 100 mph.Slap on my DR's and get in the 13's. You're only a couple mph away from my best now.

You realize a .3 is equal to the old time of .800? .056 is/was a .556.

I *might* be running rich, but my base fuel pressure is set at 40psi(idle w/no vacume). The Dawes is flickering between green and blue all the way donw the track and I've got the alcohol coming in at 10 or so and at full at 18. I might be able to pick-up the initial turn-on point a little to help with a possible rich condition under lower boost levels whiole coming up on the power, but it seems to be running great. I don't have a WBO2...and I really don't want to put one in the car(unless I can find an inconspicuous spot to instll it...I don't want to draw attention to the car). I DO want to go to the dyno, but $$$ is VERY tight right now.

As for the rear shcok tower bar see this thread
Rear shock tower bar, pics inlcuded!

I don't know when I plan to go to the track next. I'm going ot be starting classes at Embry-Riddle this coming fall and I can't afford to #1 break the car, and #2 spend more money than I really should be right now. I'm on a pretty strict budget once again.

My plans for future upgrades...I've got a brand new TAFT S2 cam that I've never intalled with all new valvetrain hardware that I'm wanting to try out. I also would like to step up to a S60 turbo w/3" SV. Obviously a ported head and manifolds would be nice, but unless I do it...it's not going to happen any time soon.

For the time being I'm just going to be happy with what I have. I'm going to install the S2 cam shortly(I have to reseal the valve cover anyways). Beyond that...nothing until next year. The turbo is the next upgrade I think.

I'd LIKE to run some better tiores, but I simply cant justify spending money on those specialty tires to use them only a few times a year, knowing they have a somewhat limited shelf life. Besides, I think that making good times in street trim is more impressive

Yeah, Sean, I know my RT's aren't up to par. I'm more concerned with getting myself ready and getting a good launch than actually winning the races right now. I know winning is part of what makes this fun, but I'm just trying to get the car and myself consistant, and get to know how to actually drive it. Once I get that down, I'll concentrate on being quicker at the light. I know I can do it, I just have to practice more! Thanks for encouragement!

I agree with the inconspicuous part. Chris Faulk turned me onto the innovate LM-1. Look right above the wiper stalk. I also understand the $$$ thing. But it's an idea for later.

That's NICE!! I thought the LM1 had that huge silver box thing for the WB controller with the green screen at the top. Hmmm.....I had planned to use something similar to what you have in my LeBaron years ago. I might still have the link, but I cant' remember what it was. I know the display was flat and had the capability of displaying either O2 or Lambda readings. I even designed my custom gage pod for it...it has a mounting pad right above the spot for the Westach EGT I have. I'll definatly look into it!

BTW...raced a '99(guessing on the year..it was non-supercharged) Mustang Cobra last night! Reults? I beat him first race, he got me second race(I can't beleive I missed my shift...DOH!!). He was impressed though! I gotta say, I was even surprised, I didn't expect to even be much of a match for him!

My mistake, I have the LC-1. I got it here.Search Results - DynoTune, Nitrous systems, components and digital gauges.
It was $299 when I bought it, but is now $259. Might pick another one up for the Horizon. You can still hook up a laptop and datalog with it from what I understand. I'm not that techno smart yet.
Congrats on the Mustang kill. They're always fun kills.

I think that is the one i was looking at. I'll probably go with that..I think it might fit where I have the current one (mounted in the tach). Even if it doesn't it's small enough to where it can be mounted easily in an inconspicous spot that is still easy to read. Thanks for the link, Sean!

Sean I think I need your DR's, I managed 14.4@102 with the SRT-4, but I don't think the car is going to see anymore track time since I am now retireing it from daily driving use weekend/cruise in use only!!

Chris I have to say i am very impressed with the Shelby Z. One day I'll have an old school TD for you You should have kept the Turbo Coupe

With that mph you'd gain a full second with some traction.

LOL, keep the Turbo Coupe!!! ROTFLMAO!!! SUURREEEE!!!! Well, at least you know you'd ALWAYS have something faster than me! LOL

That car was a good car though...just slow as hell! I'd own another one if it was in REALLY good shape.

I helped installing one of these on my Iroc R/T today. By far the greatest mod for the money you can do. even good for you who dont want to run 93 because of price. you can spray Meth at low boost levels all the way up to high and its a lot cheaper and the octane levels better. Ive never heard my car soo rich as to pop on acceleration like a high revving dsm or Rx7 rotory motor. Really impressed, makes a day and night difference.
