On the 2.5 L motor how much boost could you run with water injection but no IC. I am thinking about the Devilsown kit with progressive controller.
I have WB for tuning, could add 5th fuel injector if required. (But prefer not to, NOT looking for big power). It's for low milage stock misu T1 motor. G-valved. Stock exhaust. Will probably go to 2.5" exhaust with high flow cat & muffler soon.

You will be better off running a front-mount and leaving the meth for later. Both setups cost about the same... but you don't need to worry about tuning or filling fluid... or any of that meth related stuff when you just get an intercooler.

Without an intercooler or some type of temp. suppression i wouldn't run over 8psi just to be safe...

I prefer not having to cut any bodywork for IC tubing. So I will need a custom rad also. That will increase the cost of IC route. I like the stock non-IC sleeper look also.
Also the ability to run lower octane gas would be an advantage, especially when travelling to places without the good stuff.
I am G-valved to about 12-13 psi boost right now on 94 Octane gas. How much boost would be possible without IC. (50/50 mix).
The stock fuel system should support 15-16 psi boost (A/R probably 12.5:1 - 13:1 @ WOT). But must have an IC or 100% water injection. Think it's possible?

can you buy E85? If so buy the 3 bar cal and 3 bar map and try that instead of water injection. FWD stage 5 with 18 PSI, cal adjusted for +20 injectors. Then swap the +20s for +40s and run E85. But thats if you can buy it.

Oh to hell with E85... it's crap... you get less energy per gallon from it... and it's not even helping the environment like it was "supposed" to. So it's got a higher octane rating... but that just means it is more compressible... not that it is any better.

you must run richer with it, the AF ratio is different, about 15-20% more fuel is needed. But it is 105 octain and it is a chemical intercooler. Water doesn't actually burn

I ran 20 psi on a mitsu with a 5th injector and a junk yard intercooler.

I went as far as 16psi with no intercooler on a mitsu, I had to back the timing to 8 to get rid of the detonation.

Think I will experment with it some. I've been curious with water injection for some time.
Was yours a homebuilt or commerical system?
A bit of boost.
some extra gas,
some JackDanials & water.

To help answer the original question I'll describe my setup.
2.5 T1 non-intercooled, garrett turbo .48 exhaust housing. Devil's Own progressive w/#10 nozzle, 3 bar map dedicated to progressive system.
Stock injectors with 255 Walbro and pressure set to stock.
Running a 50/50 mix and 14 degrees of timing on 89 octane fuel I can run an easy 18 psi with no detonation.
I do intend to run an intercooler eventually but do love the Devil's Own by itself.
My guess is most people who tell you not to or give you some other option don't even have one so they can't even answer your question.
If I could do things over again the Devil's Own would have been my first mod.
