I have a buddy who grenaded his spider gears in his '90 Omni. We put the A523 in last year, and he did one too many peg-leg burns....lol. My question is, will a differential carrier from a A413 drop in the A523? Or at least the spider gears/pin? I'm thinking change the ring gear, replace the bearings/races, and drop it in. They look the same on the table, but don't have any exact measurements to compare. Dude's on a tight budget, so we are trying for cheap/free repair of his DD.
BTW.....I've heard talk here of a "Pin-saver kit". What is it and where can I get one?

Lol.....he'd love to after he drove mine with a Quaife. Sad fact, he's on a tight budget, and we're simply trying to put the car back on the road F A S T.

BUMP.....and update

His A523 didn't fully grenade as thought. We pulled it down, and the spider gears were smooth as a baby's bottom. Pin isn't hurt, and the magnet caught the bulk of the metal. I haven't had the time to pull the gears from my A413, but would still like to know beforehand if they will fit the A523 diff.
