I added an inch to the baseplate and took an inch off between the top of the stick to the pivot ball and added it to the bottom. You also have to make sure you add an inch to the side to side piece also. As for fit,it dont bother most boots but in the 91-93 Daytonas you can cause tell that the base is higher but I would of had to tell you for you to notice it.

I made one that I added 1.5" to the bottom and took 1.5" off the top and the throw from 1st to 2nd was like only 2 inches!!! It was almost too short you couldnt tell if you were in neutral or in a gear!

holy sweet! And it looks like you can use the stock shifter knob too. How much would it cost me for you to make me one of those?

Thats what I was trying to tell you about these things and you guys didnt seem to believe me! These shifters are unbelievable!!! Once you put one in your cars you will never want to drive one with a stock one again! EVERYONE of my cars have one and I wouldnt have it any other way! Prices are 125+good stock core for the 90+ and 150+core on the 89 and older. Just PM me if anyone is interested.

As for the reverse lock-out,not a problem,my 89 and older style will be fully functional. I have to make a few of these I when I do I will post more DETAILED pics so you guys can either copy them or tell me you like and have me make you one

Awesome, one question though. Does it reduce the effort you have to put into the shifter to change gears? Right now with the stock shifter cut down about 3 inches it seems like I have to put some good force into it. Would this make it easier to move the shifter?

As for the effort yes I know what you meen. Mine will take just a touch more than a stock one but after you shift it thru the gears for the first time there will be such a big smile on your face you will forget about any more effort needed

GLHman
Just PM me when you are ready with you car info...

Okay I'll probably buy one from you in the near future then, it looks great. This and the poly shifter bushings should make it shift like a champ!

Now that's the last thing that needs to be addressed on the older style trannys... Looking at the cables I don't see why it's not possible...

Cool, just PM me when you want one. As for the poly bushings, you will need them with my shifter for sure. But actually anyone that has a 90+ car should have those bushings anyhow

That was the plan but no one seemed to want one. It was like they didnt believe me how well they actually worked. What I need to do is get a few guys on the board to try them and give some feedback on how well they like them. I GAURANTEE you will never want to drive a TD without one of these once you have one. The difference is night and day!

OK,first guy with a 90+ car that PMs me I will make you one for 100 bucks shipped if you give some feedback on how awesome they really are

Side question, with a newer shifter bolt up to an older one? I have an '86 Omni and a shifter from a '89 Tona (A555 trans).

The newer shifter won't work on the older cars. Jackson can make an older style short throw shifter as well.

What is different? Can it be converted (I am already using a cable shifter in a car that came with linkage...)?
