Hello Everyone,
I have a non turbo 2.5 w/ a 523 5 speed in a 90 mini.
I was curious if the large spline(spirit rt)a568 will retro fit in it's place.
I know the clutch from the 523 will not work. I will need a clutch to match the 568 large spline. Is the 523 cable shifted? Will this be a direct swap over with no modifications? Thank you.Ryan.

It will bolt in, the driver side mount would need to be grounded to fit the 568(real easy to do). The 523 is normally cable shifted(not sure if they are on the L-Bodies). Only modification would be the bracket I spoke of above.

The cables that are in working the 523 now, can be put on the 568?
Just a grinding on the drivers side mount?
Thank you.Ryan

No grinding should be needed. Everything will work but the clutc disc.

I have a simular question, putting the 568 in place of the 523 in a 2.5 t1 shadow should work aside from needing the clutch from the sprit R/T. Are the axles the same too?
