Anybody know what a Manual Transmission Electronic Module does? The Daytona we're working on has this strange little black box, about 3x3x1, and labeled as Manual Transmission Electronic Module and plugged into one of the terminals of the wiring harness. The car has cruise control and didn't know if it was related to it or not or just one of those things that are sold to supposedly help get better fuel mileage. I've talked to some very knowledgeable people and they have no idea and it's certainly NOT something from the factory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a remote starter to me. The box is probably to keep it from starting in gear when using it.
