On Sunday I have the option of picking up a working A525 from a Shelby GLHS for free and was wondering if this would be a direct replacement for whatever transmission came stock on my 88 Daytona Shelby. I tried searcing for "A525 Daytona" with no results. Thanks in advance for the answer.

A525 are not worth their weight in scrap.

Will it bolt up? yes.

If it is an '86 or older, then your axles will not fit.

Will it last? Most likely not.

Find a 87 - 89 A520 or A555 for a direct bolt-on for your 88 Daytona Shelby Z.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking for the cheapest alternative to getting the transmission fixed--mine has a bad clutch.
