trans rebuild kit?

I have a 525 in my 87 dodge daytona shelby z...I have been trying to find a rebuild kit for it, but cant find anything....anyone know of any places that sell rebuild kits with synchros?

Or places where I can get the most transmission parts?

I just hate to junk my 525 because I have a bad 1-2 synchro, but I dont want to just replace the synchro, I want to freshen up the blocker rings, synchro's, and what not...

ALSO, anyone know where I can get a rear trans seal? or is that just rtv'ed on there?

A-525? Throw it away; it's just a heap of scrap metal. Get a 555, or at least a 520.

If it is the stock trans in that car, it SHOULD be a A555, the A525 came in the 86 and before cars, but 87 was the golden year of change for the transmissions. And the only vehicles that got that transmission after that were the L-bodies.

Does anyone know of any kits for all the tranny's?

I have an A520 I want to rebuild, and an A555 that I want to get for my father and it also needs a rebuild.

Where is the tag located to verify what it is?

I have seen pics that show on top but like to verify my 88 daytona shelby z also to see if it does have the 555 in it.

The tag should be top dead center for the A555 and A520, and if I remember right, the tag for the A525 is in a different location, so I would go and look straight down in the engine bay under the air box.

But for trans rebuild kits, I think that Phenix Transmissions has rebuild kits for the cars. But you can do a google search and there are a couple of responses that look to work for a source.

I thought it was an OBX A555, and the 523 was for the OBX A568. But you could also use the A520 for the A555. But either way, a good way to upgrade a transmission.

There's a place in Vegas called the Trans Doctor I think you might get a kit. IIRC it's cheaper to buy a good used trans.
