I pulled my valve body out of my prior tranny out of the 89 2.5T mini to put into the tranny that came out of the 90 Dodge Spirit 2.5T and noticed the valve body plates had 2 different number on them (see pic). Also, the governor weights and springs were different... the mini tranny had solid governor weights (the small weight was the lighter of the two available) and the spring was longer but weaker, where the Spirit tranny had the hollow weights and an orange shorter, but stronger sprint.

Any ideas?

the governor weights and spring you describe will give the trans different shift points and have a different shift feel. the weight difference of the 2 vehicles will require different wieghts and springs to achieve the same shift quality and feel. if there was notthing wrong with it id put the mini valvebody back into the tranny you're puttin in it.

The different numbers usually imply different bleed hole diameters.

If you take the two plates out and put them up against each other, you'll see the differences.
