i have an Omni GLH-T rallycross car. I am at the point where i need to do something with the transmission. The gearing isnt favorable.

okay, so i was reading around, and seeing that the old heavy gear set stuff from MP for the A525 is no longer available i was thinking. If the neon transmission internal supposedly fit into my case, could i then use a lot of the neon based MP components? Exactly how much it usable?

I also want limited slip. Welded diff is not ideal for what i do nor is open diff. Could i use the neon diff so something like an OBX is an easy not adapter plate ordeal?

Would the 520 be a better choice for the above?

For further clarification, i want either a taller gear or a better gear set. IE, i need an ACR or R/T transmission gear set and a 3.87 gear for the A525 if i can't use the neon diff. Is the final gear from the A555 swapable? Doesn't look to be as such....

I might have 3.87 gear set from a A525. I bought the gear set out of the MP catalog years ago, its brand new never used.

Get a A555 and bolt a Quaife LSD to it.

so in comparing final drive stuff, did any production 525 have the 3.87 ring? Or can a 3.87 ring be used from another transmission?

Non turbo glh had 3.87 ratio and non turbo shelby chargers. they both had A525 transaxles. Early models, 1984 shelbly chargers and 84 and some 85 non turbo glh's. I'll PM you after I find the ring gear and shaft.

All '84, '85 & '86 GLH 5-spd's and NA Shelby Charger 5-spd's were equipped with the 110 hp 2.2 HO & the 3.87 FD 525's as standard equipment. The Turbo versions of the above came with a 3.56 FD 525 trans.
