1987 shelby z with original 5 speed fluid is full. The vehicle has sat for 5 years befor I got it. All gears are good except fourth grinds a bit shifts ok if double clutched. Any recomindations for an easy repair or should i just plan on putting in a new synchro soon.

Change the fluid & see if it helps a little. The synchro's probably shot.

Sems like the fourth and fith gear synchros would be the last to go, but you are probably right.
