My transmission has been gone since I purchased my daytona and I have been told both a fluid and filter change will help and will not help.

I am thinking I am going to do the fluid and filter change this weekend.

What fluid should I used?

it's an 88 daytona with a 2.2 turbo.

Thanks,
Joe

Mopar ATF+4 replaces all previous Mopar trans fluids. Walmart sells official Mopar ATF.

now that I know what fluid to buy,

does anyone think doing the fluid and filter will help, all gears are there once it warms up.

Would'nt want to get your hopes up but I have seen filters so clogged they would'nt pass enough fluid when cold to operate .when the fluid thinned from some heat they would work ok. So Maybe --cross fingers.

well thanks,

I sure hope it will fix my problems!

Oh I forgot to ask, how much tranny fluid should I get?
Sorry for the questions but I don't have a repair manual for the car yet.

fluid and filter changed and it is shifting better but not 100% and the fluid is starting to get darker already.

So wait 2 weeks and change it again? Do you think that might fix the problem?

Thanks for all the help guys,

I am looking into rebuilding my tranny next year and I wanna start doing my research oh what the best way to rebuild it would be.

So can someone give me the model of tranny I "should" have in my 88 daytona cs 2.2 T1 that would be great.

Thanks again
Joe
