i ordered the parts as my mechanic whos somewhat a 2.2 fan himself.....says i "probably" need to replace this since its not going into reverse and is realllllllll touchy thru other gears or well first is all i had it in since its not registered yet but he says hes replaced like 2 of these before and it did the trick each time......

so anyone else replace this before???

I didn't actually replace mine, but I had it off when I replaced my clutch cable that snapped. It has 2 pieces, and both have a few rows of teeth that mesh when engaged with the cable and pedal. They are made of plastic so I wouldn't doubt that it may wear out eventually. When my clutch cable was acting up, sometimes the adjuster would slip and I would hear a loud pop before it engaged again. It seemed pretty easy to get off.

I replaced one in my old Daytona. A few teeth stripped out suddenly and all of a sudden, the clutch wouldn't completely disengage.

Have fun changing it....it was a complete pain in the backside. Lying under the steering wheel of a Daytona, in the cold, using one of my wife's makeup mirrors to see behind the clutch pedal which means trying to work in mirror image was far from fun!

Good luck!

That was the plan originally, but I had trouble reaching the clip and was afraid that I would have an even worse time getting it back on.

Just take the clutch pedal off the pedal assembly next time. Much easier. It's only held on by a clip (or was it a nut.. don't remember).

Once the pedal is off it's a breeze to change the adjuster.
