I've seen where you said the 520 and 555 need to be matched by year to swap I shaft and diff. Question I have is are you referring to build date of trans or model year of vehicle? The 520 is from an '87 CSX, the 555 from an '89 Shelby Daytona, however the build date on the trans is 12/07/88 and assembly number is 4446380.

The years listed are model year, if the month of mfg. is in the later half of the year before (ie. 7/x/88 - 12/x/88) then the trans is for the new model year. In the case of your 555 12/07/88, it is most definatly a 89' 555, now you need to find a 89' 520 to match (easier than finding another 555).
