Number one question here, what is your HP goals?

You'll defintely want to replace the n/a torque converter and flywheel as it has only 3 bolts. The turbo has 4. I would bet the extra HP from the turbo might possibly warp the 3 bolt flywheel or the bolts could be sheared off leaving you with a torn up trans housing and possibly more damage. Check out thedodgegarage.com, I think there is some other issues with the A413 tranny's made before 1986.

The 84 trans probably also has unequal CV axles. If you plan to up the HP much at all, you'll be dealing with some major torque steer if you don't get the half shaft and equal length axles.

At least get the differential pin retainers, and think about doing the 1/4" pipe shift kit on the valve body. Set the line pressures to race specs.

Yea, he says that all late model a413 has a better torque converter and larger axles and what no.

Goal is 300+ HP. Im going all out on my 2.5 buildup, Doing things right the first time. Going to pull the engine out today, and then this weekend, start on the 2.5 engine.

From His site...
A-413 Automatic, 2.2/2.5 & 3.0 V6

We will concern ourselves with the 84-92 model years here; This is a very general listing because I'm much more familiar with the manual transmissions.

84-85; 3 lug torque converter, 6 bolt flexplate, notches on converter for pump, small axles.

86; 4 lug converter, 8 bolt flexplate, flats on converter for pump, small axles.

87-92; 4 lug converter, 8 bolt flexplate, flats on converter, big axles with redesigned differential.
