can an 87axel fit in an 86glht if not what can.

Auto trans or manual? The L-body 525 axles will fit because they are all the same size. After '87 the axles for the auto trannies got upgraded to a bigger size. IOW, if you want to put axels from an '87 L-body with a manual trans into an '86 L-body with a manual trans, "YES," you can do that. But you will not be able to swap axles between auto and manual for those years. Confused yet?

Here are more facts. L-body axles are unique. No axles from any other cars will fit. All L-body axles from 525 trannies are the same size diameter. After 1987 the axles for the auto trannies were made larger diameter.
