What is used to attach the two of these together at the transmission? Thanks.

I am not sure exactly what you mean, but there is a rubber bushing that pops in the cable end which then is snapped down on the shaft on the lever.

Yea, the bushing is there, but there's only a hole on the lever itself...wondering what was suppose to go where the hole is.
