Hello

i have a question here.. are OEM spec clutches not performance oriented? the clutch is fairly new.. only about a year and a half old.. I was having some fun today with a buddy from work in his '81 monte carlo .. from a dead stop.. reved the motor to 3-4 grand and dumped the clutch.. i got instantly 6 grand in 1st 2nd and partital 3rd before i shut it down..the smell didnt help either.. so im wondering.. oem spec clutches not like to be dumped? maybe it was my tires? perhaps I'm making that much power now

thanks for the help

how heavy is your pressure plate? maybe it's slipping cuz there's not enough pressure applied to the clutch.

it would all be stock.. mind you, my car ['88 lancer shelby] doesnt exibit the common heavy clutch pedal as most TD's.. mines fairly light! this mean i have a lighter than normal pressure plate?

thanks for the info
