Now if I could just get my kickdown cable set right, id be in business. I need a picture of how it should be set up at the throttle body.

I've got access to a CNC setup at work . Is that plate stainless ? I could get some made up , but would need one to start with . Too bad it's not aluminum , or I could make them for free . Somebody PM me with more info , like what metal is required and where I can get a sample plate .

I have an extra 81-86 plate that I would like a copy of. But the later ones are different I believe.

I too just got the kit. Its really quite simple. There are some springs for the governor-to stop it from sticking, one for the throttle valve-which you grind some material off-make it shorter, add a couple viton check balls, drill more holes in the valve body and turn up the line pressure. Theres some shims for the intermediate servo and new metal rings for the intermediate accumulator piston.

The full manual part is really neat. Governor line block off plate and a few other mods. All in all, not bad.

Will be trying it out in the next month or so. Just need some time and another valve body to try it on.

I don't think you have to take the tranny apart but time will tell,

I cant figure out any other way to put the servo spacers in, but maybe I am missing something. Its possible that you could unhook the band I guess with it still in the tranny and get the arm out of the way, but I havent tried that.

What is involved in installing one of these? just the regular shift kit. Does the tranny have to come out. is it basically just a bolt in.

Just the valve body has to come out. Course, that involves dropping the pan, taking the shifter cable and kickdown cable off, and pulling the valve body. You will have to take the valve body apart also to drill holes in the seperator plate and put in the new Viton check balls. Its not too terribly complicated, but will take some time.

NOOOOOOOO.... don't ever mix synthetic tranny fluid with regular fluid.... just because you drain the pan doesn't mean you have got even half the fluid out, because the converter holds so much, and you can't drain it all out properly without taking the trans apart, and the clutches already have been soaked with regular fluid.....

Don't change to sythetic, run clean regular mopar approved fluid only until you completely rebuild and go through the entire tranny...

It is a cool little valve body kit!!!!

I just got mine!!

There is nothing wrong with switching to synthetic. I have done this to many customer vehicles. Granted you can't get it all out, that whys you have it flushed and synthetic installed. I don't know what all this myth stuff surrounds synthetic for??????????

DUDE!!!!

How much is $120CAD in US$ now???

I got this shift kit for $40 with my discount from my tranny supply shop.....

ok, Simon may have luck with swapping them over and mixing fluids, but I haven't and have been strongly recommended against doing so by Royal Purple, and TCI both....
