I re-read your post again... Where can I come up with these springs and weights? I want the 5800 shift points also. 5500 would be better for my car, but 5800 will work too for bracket racing. I am guessing when you are talking about the Sonnax spring you took out the turbo/v6 spring and put in the n/a spring. Is the orange spring and blue spring behind the big valve?

Yes, the orange and blue springs are the big valve ones. I am unsure on the sonnax spring but can check whenI get back to work in a few hours.
To get the springs and weights, you need one late 80's TBI governor and a late 80's turbo governor. If you want, I can send you what you need.

So, for instance if I drilled my weight out to make it lighter, my shift points would go up? Or would that be a good idea?
Yes. Try using all the turbo governor parts (both hollow weights and orange spring). Leave the small weight alone, I wouldn't put any "helper" springs behind it either. You don't need them unless the governor weights and housing are trashed. Drill the larger weight out so it becomes even lighter, this will help raise your WOT shift points without messing up the part throttle shifts.

How much do you take out? Good question! It's different for every trans. The stock turbo f/d is usually 3.02, if you swapped to a 2.78 ratio, then your shift points will go down. This is because the transfer shaft is spinning faster than before at any given road speed.

I think if i had a turbo governor, I would have all the parts I need. Everything in it currently is stock TBI from 1985, except the Sonnax kit with the V6 spring. What would you want for a turbo governor?

Im gonna call a couple of shops Monday and see what I can find. If I cant come up with anything, I will let you know. Do the different colored big springs for the big valve come in the two different governors? ie - orange=tbi blue=turbo? Just curious...

I think the solid gets the blue, the hollow turbo gets the orange.

As Tourqeflite suggested, it would be nice if someone could scan the directions.
It would be a little easier for the rest of us to follow the discussion

Sorry for being a pain, but I am just trying to learn and get this thing tuned to my liking. My problem is I dont have any Turbo 413 parts. They seem to be impossible to find around here...
Are you talking about only your WOT shift points? If you're only worried about these shift points, then just turn up the line pressure like Simon suggested. Turning up the line pressure will *only* affect WOT shift points. Regular shift scheduling (anytime you're not at WOT) will remain the same. If you drill the weight out and make it lighter, it will raise WOT shift points *and* raise part throttle shift points, and make 3-2 part throttle kickdown more sensitive.
There is no part throttle kickdown to 1st. Once you're in 2nd or 3rd, you have to floor the car to get it to hit 1st gear.

Yes, I am talking about part throttle shifts. Like I said, right now its got all TBI parts in it, excpet the Sonnax kit, which is why I think it shifts way too soon at part throttle.

You said in a previous post that you didn't care about "shifts at normal driving speeds" (post #50). If you are worried about these shifts, you might get away with playing with your kickdown cable. If you fool around with it and make it "tighter", your part throttle shifts will go up.

Ok, so I changed my mind. I would like to get it all adjusted out. Its pretty bad when you pull out of the driveway and get about 50 feet and it shifts into 2nd. I really didnt think it was that bad before, but after driving it a while now, I dont like it.

I know, I'm dragging a dead horse out to beat it some more but.....I called Roger yesterday afternoon and ordered one of these kits for myself.

They have gone down in price and are now $36 plus shipping. Roger is a very helpful person and seems to know quite a bit about Chrysler trannys. He also vaguely remembered being asked about this kit back in June by Fish.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this site about a week ago. Otherwise I'd of never found out about this kit.

The jury is still out on it, I have used both the backyarder mods, and this kit and feel the backyarder works way better but I do like the servo mods for 3rd gear.

I mainly bought it for the governor sticking issue and will most likely not do any of the other mods. Although I do need to finish modding my VB I only removed the one steel ball and installed the rod and didn't do anything else to it.
