i've serached through all the old posts on this topic and what i've come up with is that only koni shocks/struts will work with eibach springs, or any other spring with a high spring rate. i am thinking about getting the suspension techniques 1" drop springs and i priced konis and everyone probably already knows they are alot more expensive then the rest, but the kyb's are reasonable. so i guess my question is will the ST springs work with kyb's. all input is appreciated.

GR-2 struts lasted less than 1 year in my 89 daytona shelby with stock springs.

Konis are the only sturts that are really worth using with lowering springs. If you cant afford konis, i would suggest getting bilstien front struts and kyb gas adjust rear shocks, and then getting some shelby z springs. That would probably work pretty well. and be better than stock. If you plan on using any kind of aftermakrket springs, just wait until you can afford konis too.

You can order from Bilstein and they will custom valve your shocks and struts. I talked to them last week regarding some coil overs I had from them.

Does bilstien make good struts for turbo dodges? The ones i saw that they sell are just the cheap ones, but still better than the KYBs.

so the shelby z springs are out of a daytona right, and they will fit a shadow? from what i understand the springs all all the same on k based cars.

Yes, the springs from a turbo II daytona. They should be a bit stiffer than what you have, but not too stiff for stock replacemeant struts. When you dont have alot of money for suspension upgrades, staying closer to stock and just making a few small changes usually works out pretty well. New front suspension bushings will make a huge difference in handling too.

There a pretty good shock/strut. On my coilovers, the shaft is 3/4 of an inch-pretty beefy. Haven't tried them yet but thats next on my list. The fact you can have them redone, like Koni's, makes them a viable option.

I know bilstien makes some really good stuff, but the olny turbo dodge ones i saw were just stock replacement ones, not perfomance.

alright i guess im gonna go with the shelby springs. does any year daytona work? and then will the car sit at stock height? and if so is cutting the springs to get a little lower a good idea or will it bounce the springs out?

I know the daytona springs from any year should work (as long as its a turbo II to get the stiffer ones), but im not sure about the ride height change. I probably wouldnt cut them, just becasue with the length of the sturts remaining the same, however much you lower your car is that much less suspension travel. As long as you arent trying to lower it moe than maybe 3/4 inch cutting the springs probably wouldnt hurt, but it wont help anything either.

Well, just think about how much suspension travel you can live without and plan accordingly. If you drive on smooth roads lowering your car an inch wouldnt hurt too much probably.

csx springs should work too, and the struts are all the same as far as i know. If you get kybs dont cut the springs tho, it will just wear them out even faster. They really arent even as good as what most cars came with new.
