Can I get 13" rims to fit onto a Dynasty?

I have a 1983 Dodge Aries and put 4 new Cooper winter tires onto it right before the motor died and I parked it. The tires on the Aries are 185/80/13's. I now have a Dodge Dynasty with 14" wheels. They are 195/75/14's (I think, I'm not positive.) I would love to run the tires on my Dynasty, but will have to find a 13" rim in a 5x100 bolt pattern. I found some GM's that cross up, but don't know what backspacing I'll need. Any chance that a 13" rim will clear my rotors up front? Also what bolt pattern is on early Plymouth Neon's? They have 13's but are they 4x100 or 5x100 or something different then that yet?

If you guys could help it'd be awesome, I don't want to waste $400 of rubber!

Thanx!

dang that sucks. I have a set of 4 13" rims off an omni and the spindles and hubs (front and rear). I dunno if you wanna go through the work of converting the spindles (rears are really easy, fronts are easy put can be a pain), but if you do I got'em here. Oh, and I'm not 100% sure if they'll fit, some modification may be needed, and you'd need an alignment at the end. A lot of work to save some $$ I know.
*edit* yeah you're gonna need rotors too and the rear drums. The more I think about it, this is definitely too much of a pain. I'm pretty sure all 13" rims are 4 lug though (dodge anyhow) but I could be wrong.

do not do it, unless you have a death wish! my dynasty stopped way better than my k car, despite being 500 pounds heavier. bigger front discs/calipers, bigger rear drums and 24mm m/c instead of 21 makes all the difference in the world!

I second that. I must've had some mental lapse or something.

I'm not wanting to switch axleshafts and hubs, just rims, the rubber is the same size (well about 3/4" smaller). I just wondered if a 13" rim would clear. I know I can find a 13" 5x100 rim.

Also my k-car seemed to have much better braking then the Dynasty. I wish I could have measured it, but I stopped my car from 100-110 km/h to 0 in probably under 100 feet to avoid t-boning a car. That was with totally shot rear shocks and almost as bad struts!

Just a bump.

Anyone know if a 13" wheel will clear the rotors/drums on a '93 Dynasty?

other problem with 13's is that the dynasty needs tall tires and you will have so much sidewall the handling will REALLY suck! sell the tires and get the right size for your car!

9.5" k car brake rotors, calipers and pads will be needed, as well as 85-87 k car 13" wheels. I did this swap AFTER going thru the trouble of SHL'ing my Omni. I got a smoking deal on some 13" slicks, and had to undo my SLH brake up grade to fit the k car 13" wheels over my brakes. I figured the 9.5" k car brakes were still alot better than non vented Omni ones.

$400 for 13" tires geez you got f'd on that deal. I raced circle track stock cars and my Goodyear, Hoosier, McCreary, racing tires were not even close to that cost. List price on the most expensive tire that size I can find runs $60 each= $240 for the set

You're probably right that they were cheaper, my folks got me new rubber for my car as a b-day present.

If I have to downsize brakes then I guess I won't due that, and I have noticed the Dynasty corners better so I guess I will stay with the 14's, I hadn't thot about sidewall flex. My brother just got himself a VW Fox and he can use the rubber on there. Thanks for the help guys! Now I know I have to save up for rubber for the next winter!
