If you really want to you can upgrade to the newer knuckles with bolt in bearings... and ps most new cars are the same way.

tech inspection? What state are you trying to register the car in? There is no tech inspection in this state.

Not register, pass tech at the track, they told me that I couldn't auto-cross because my bearings are too worn out, so out with the old and in with the new

How hard is it to upgrade to the newer knuckles?

Ooooh.. heh, dur.. That makes sense..
Upgrade to newer knuckles.. You just have to find a set. I have a set, but I'm not sure I want to give them up.. They have brand new premium pads, new 11.25" rotors, and good bearings.. They stop hella well. They're still on my Daytona that I'm parting out.. I'd let them go for $150, even toss in the 24mm master cylinder if you need it..

What car(s)/year(s) are these originally offered on? Can they be found in a boneyard? How much would they charge me if I went and pulled them myself?

'89+ fancy models.. heh.. I found mine on an '89 Daytona ES originally.. The nice Lebaron's got them, really nice Spirit's..
If you could find them, I think I spent $75 on them.. Not counting the rotors and pads I put on later. And that was at the dirt cheap junkyard in Lynnwood.

Oooh.. And keep in mind, swapping upgraded brakes onto your car will bump you out of the stock class in autocross. If that's something that's important to you..

Check out my Cardomain site http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2134729 and then tell me if the brakes will really affect my class placement....

I'm not totally sure about the class thing. You might send a PM to Sherri007 on here, she's pretty familiar with autocross rules. I've never tried autocrossing, I prefer drag racing..

they're stock, just stock 89 brakes Minivans for the fronts, just gotta swap to the smaller bolt pattern hub. and Daytona shelbys. Lebaron GTC's, some Daytona ES models and R/T's etc is where you find the rears. Just look for vented rear rotors. That's the ones. You'll want the PP valve and the MC as well unless you use a dodge D150 truck MC.
