So what all is involved in getting Daytona struts to fit into an L body? I've heard you just swap the tops (strut bearing assembly) from the L body struts to the G body struts, and they bolt right in after that. Reason I want to do this is I have a set of 11" brakes I'd like to put on my Omni.. They're the setup with the caliper bracket built into the spindle..
Maybe I could just drill extra holes in the top of the strut tower and stick with the Daytona strut bearings?

Why the Daytona struts and not neon ones? If you don't mind me asking.

That makes sense. I wonder how high it would sit.
P.S. Could use your input on this thread http://www.****************/forums/showthread.php?t=4831

Well I already cut 2 coils off the Daytona springs, so that should help the ride height.

the knuckles in the l body are smaller than the Daytona so the strut wont fit very well you might need daytona knuckles

If I recall, since they sit at a different angle than the L-body struts, they don't fit unless you use coilovers.

If you can machine the strut mounts on the Daytona knuckles to fit into L body struts, then they must be sitting at the same kind of angle..

I think that is adjusted in the alignment.

Put them in with the daytona knuckles/spindles get it aligned and tell us what happened.

If I recall correctly, the knuckles stick out farther from the car on the daytona, so the strut has to angle back in slightly on the omni to work. Ignoring the alignment issues this causes, the springs hit the car without coilovers. Ive only seen 1 L-body with 11" brakes and the daytona swap, and he had to run coil-overs. He used to have the machined knuckles before he swapped to the g-body stuff.
