After some of the reading I've been doing (I know, I know, I used to be up to speed on these things but it's been a while) How are the brakes set up on the Omnis? Would I need 2 linelocks for the rear tires or just one, from what i've read, its not front/rear split, its Left front/Right rear and Right front left rear, or am I wrong on this?

yes diagonal braking. you get 2 solinoids put them between master cyl yo proportioning valve. use one switch to activate. so step on brakes, activate lock, let off brake, mash gas, trip switch and go

I would like a line lock morso because the Omni has rear disk and no ebrake. I was hopping I only had to run 1 line lock, but I guess I'll have to run 2, one on the left rear, one on the right rear.

Just get an aftermarket proportioning valve
redo the brake lines
one line to the rear with the line lock in place

Is there anything wrong with using a line lock for an ebrake? I have an Omni GLH that I converted to rear discs and the ebrake cables snapped so I didn't bother putting any of the ebrake components back in.

by law, yes there is a problem. vehicles are required to have a mechanical backup brake system (ie: emergency or parking brake). if you loose hydraulics, the mechanical brake is suppose to help slow the vehicle down. so if you don't have a mechanical system, and if the hydraulics fail, then you will still have no braking potential. now the other problem is if you set a line lock and shut off the car using the lock for a parking brake, you will drain the battery since the solenoid would be energized to hold the brake (another bad idea).

as for line lock on rear wheels on a FWD car... locking the rears only (especially with 300+ hp like I have, will not hold the car.. the fronts break loose too easy and will drag the rear wheels), I personally tried this just using the ebrake and when the trans was approaching stall speed, the front tires just started digging, dragging the rear tires. no good for hard launches.

Well scratch that idea! Maybe someday I'll find an L-body in the 'yard that still has functional cables.
