i recently replaced the front axles in my 87 daytona shelby z.

when i got the car it had new tires all the way around, eccept the fronts had about a 3/16th left from the PO burning them off, and the inside corners showed that it was going to need ball joiints, anywhoo, i drove it for 600 miles and did't really see a difference in the tread on the inside, then i replaced the axles, taking off the lower ball joints to do so, and then drove it for 75mles, i checked the tires again and the inside corners are bald! with cords starting to show

did i mess something up when i took the wheel assembly off, the only thing i did'nt unbolt from the wheel assembly was the tie rod ends

I'm no expert on alignment and what not but you said you unbolted everything except the tie rod end. That means you undid the knuckle from the strut assembly? or at least loosened it? The tires were already nearly tread less and messing with those two bolts messes up the camber. I just got done putting on my konis and all new bushings/tierod ends and my tires are all cock eyed. I fixed the toe as much as I could by eye but the camber is still completely outta whack maybe this is your problem?

are you sure you got the ball joint stud fully seated before putting the pinch bolt back in. I have seen guys not get in all the way in before. If not found the joint can come apart.

If you mess up the camber you mess up the toe which will drag the tire sideways. You need to get some new ball joints (napa heavy duty only) and an alignment.
