jy gets $20-$40. since u got computer saavy, ever think about using that to search the web for prices on new parts? say maybe autozone, napaonline, advanceautoparts, checker, pep boys, reilly, bumper to bumper, car quest, jc whitney, parts train, champion, autopartswarehouse, autopartsgiant, and i image theres another 50 out there.

in your case, sure, take it to your local tire/service center and have them rebalanced. keep us informed of your findings.

Just keep in mind that just because the tires are balanced doesn't mean they won't generate a shake. Some tires must not have good quality control. I have a set of Pep Boys tires on my Lebaron that have over 50,000 miles on them. They've shook for most all of those 50,000 miles. Not a severe shake until the tires drop below 26 PSI, (speaking of which, have you checked tire pressure?) I have finally worn them down and I am getting a new set of tires this week. Ride, traction, handling was great with the tires, but the Muh fuggas just shake.

I cannot keep my CV axle brands straight in my head, but I =THINK= it is the GKN axles that originally come in 1992 cars that have aftermarket boots on them that will not allow the CV axle to fit on the drivers side. The boot is too thick and will rub against the transmission housing. There is only one aftermarket boot that fits, and it is a so-so fit and requires re-using the axle's original style clamp. Universal style clamps WILL NOT work because part of the clamp protrudes from the axle and will hit the transmission housing. On the passenger side, it is a non-issue. Every now and then you'll come across one of these style axles when you buy a reman one.

It sucks to buy a reman axle, get it home only to find out that the SOB does not fit because of the boot on it. Lets just say that I've been down this road before. More than once.

Your description is not totally clear in explaining the exact problem. Before sending you down the wrong path, these are all things that could be your problem:

CV joint failure
Tire failure
Loose steering/suspension components such as tie rods, loose rack mounts, loose front crossmember, bad rack, power steering assist issues, bad ball joints, bad control arm bushings, bad struts, bad struts, bad strut bearings,
Warped brake rotors
Bad wheel bearings
excessive run-out in hub
alignment issues
and probably another dozen things that someone else can add
